Clubs and organizations offer students
numerous opportunities to become involved in their training. These
organizations not only provide leadership and career development
opportunities, but they also provide industry with a professional who is
more qualified, motivated, confident, and competitive. Many of great
Plains Technology Center's students have won state and national
recognition in their organizations.
At Great Plains Technology Center, student organizations are available
for both high school and post-high school students.
BPA - Business Professionals of America
This student organization has a history that contributes to the
preparation of a world-class Workforce through the advancement of
leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills for students
at the secondary and the post-secondary level. Through co-curricular
programs and services, members of Business Professionals of America
compete in demonstrations of their business technology skills, develop
their professional and leadership skills, network with one another and
professionals across the nation, and get involved in the betterment of
their community through good works projects.
FCCLA- Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
This national student organization helps young men and women become
leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues
through family and consumer sciences education.
HOSA - Health Occupations Students of America
This national student organization is endorsed by the U.S. Department of
Education and the Health Occupations Education (HOE) Division of the
American Vocational Association. Its mission is to promote career
opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of
quality health care to all people.
NV-THS - National Vocational Technical Honor Society
This organization honors students for achievement and success in
Vocational Technical Education. This honor is bestowed upon those
students who exhibit the qualities of citizenship, leadership,
workmanship, and scholarship.
SkillsUSA-
This national organization is for trade, technical, and health
occupational students in public high schools, vocational centers, area
vocational schools and two-year colleges. SkillsUSA provides quality
education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship,
and character development. It emphasizes total quality at work, high
ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education, and pride
in the dignity of work.
Great Plains Technology Center - Leadership Class
This organization allows students to engage in leadership/teamwork
building activities, meet community and state leaders and assist with
